Laager introduces new packaging

“We are delighted to officially introduce the new look and packaging of Laager Rooibos,” confirms Jonathan Kelsey, co-owner of Joekels. “The new modernised packaging is simply to maintain standardisation of all our teas, ensuring that they are clearly defined regardless of the variant,” explained Kelsey.

Joekels Laager Rooibos in its new packaging is now available in all major retailers and wholesalers.

Established in 1994 by Joe Swart and Jonathan Kelsey, Joekels are blenders and packers of some of South Africa’s most popular teas. From small beginnings, the company has expanded and grown remarkably to the third-biggest tea company in the country.

It now has 10 different brands within its stable – Laager Rooibos (which is the second-biggest rooibos brand in SA), Laager Tea4Kidz, Laager herbals , Laager Cappuccino, Tetley, Phendula Tips, Tea Time, Tea for Me, Teeco Tea, and Southalls Rooibos, as well as some of the leading private label brands in SA.

In 2006 Tetley, a wholly-owned subsidiary of a Tata Global Beverages, which is the world’s second-largest manufacturer and distributor of tea, purchased an equity stake in Joekels in order to further grow its worldwide market share and expand into Africa.

“We are very excited about this change in our packaging and do believe that it will help our customers to identify our products more easily. We do believe our customers will love our new look just as much as we do,” ends Kelsey.
