The company said the quinoa milk, which also features chia, would capitalise on the “strong growth” in the A$130m (R1.2b) Australian long-life, non-dairy milk market, as consumers start moving away from traditional dairy products.

“The quinoa milk is the first locally produced product available in mainstream Australian food supermarkets, i.e. not health food stores which typically stock imported products,” said Freedom Foods Group brand portfolio manager Angelo De Blasio.

“Imported lines are [also] available in very limited distribution within the independent grocery gector, which represent a small proportion of organised Australian supermarkets.”
