Diageo has launched its first pre-mixed gin & tonic featuring the Tanqueray brand. The company says that Tanqueray & Tonic has rolled out in popular RTD market, Australia.
“Diageo is focused on innovation driven by strong consumer insights that provide new ways for consumers to experience our brands in more occasions,” said Drewe Letchford, Diageo Australia head of strategy & innovation.
“We know that consumers are looking for everyday premium experiences they can enjoy at home where convenience doesn’t compromise on quality.”
The launch will be supported by out-of-home media, digital and in-store point of sale activity.
“Gin is on trend right now, it’s the second-fastest growing category within spirits, and in our opinion, one of the most vibrant and interesting,” added Letchford.
According to the just-drinks/The IWSR Global RTD & Cider Insights 2018 report, Australia remains one of the largest markets in the world for RTDs. Japan, the US and Australia together account for 60% of total volumes and 62% of value.
