29 Jun 2022 Yes, broccoli-infused wine is now a thing
If brussels sprout gin wasn’t an already horrifying enough reality, someone has gone ahead and made broccoli wine.
The green-tinged tipple has been made by the UK’s Lyme Bay Winery in partnership with Tenderstem broccoli as a unique way to encourage Brits to eat more greens.
Called Tendernay, the vegie-based vino is made from a mix of chardonnay grapes and Tenderstem broccoli stalks, boasting a unique colour and flavour profile.
David Samuels, Spokesperson at Tenderstem said: “Tenderstem broccoli is a British suppertime favourite, and we continue to pride ourselves on its nutty, succulent flavour. So, what better way to use its iconic notes and flavours and launch our very own Tenderstem tipple?”
Lyme Bay Winery has said the broccoli wine can be paired with almost anything.
The limited edition wine has hit shelves to coincide with English Wine Week from June 18 to 26, 2022.
