New MD for Tiger Brands’ beverages division

There’s a new face leading some of South Africa’s iconic beverage brands, including Oros and Roses.

Tiger Brands has recently appointed Ismail Nanabhay as MD of the group’s beverages category. 

Nanabhay (pictured above) and his team have over recent months have reportedly introduced exciting product innovations for OROS, ROSES, BROOKES and ENERGADE (not that we’ve been let in on any of these…hmm?)

In 2021, Nanabhay was recognised at Tiger Brands for his innovative vision and divergent thinking to increase competitiveness within the beverages category.  

In November 2021, he was appointed Acting MD of Beverages, with the category sustaining good volume growth under his leadership. 

“Our beverage business has been identified as a high-growth category for Tiger Brands with a strong focus on expanding our presence through innovation,” says Thushen Govender, Chief Growth Officer: Consumer, Tiger Brands.

“In Ismail, we have a leader with a solid innovation track record and extensive commercial experience. We are looking forward to building on our brand leadership and engaging our consumers with an innovative beverage offering under his leadership.”

Nanabhay’s professional career spans 27 years working for multinationals, including Coca-Cola, BP and Castrol, and across Southern and Central Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. 

“I look forward to the next chapter in my career, and this amazing opportunity to lead the Beverages Category at Tiger Brands. Building and growing an already amazing team will be key to success both for myself personally, and for the overall business,” says Nanabhay.
