04 Oct 2013 New communications head for Tetra Pak South Africa
“This is an excellent opportunity for me to expand my experience and exposure following my roles at Tiger Brands and the government communication and information systems (GCIS),” says Ntuli. “One of my primary goals at Tetra Pak is to communicate with our global team so that they understand our strategy to support our initiatives where appropriate and vice versa. Additionally there are numerous product and service lines to continue taking to various markets, which represent an excellent opportunity to grow the Tetra Pak brand and solutions.
“I am also committed to communicating with our clients and aligning our sub-Sahara communication strategy with the global communications strategy. My aim is to drive our unique elements in our market cluster and provide communications that support our cluster strategy.”
Ntuli joins Tetra Pak from GCIS where she was chief director: cluster communication. She provided specialist communication expertise to government clusters, directors-general and ministers. Prior to that she had joined Tiger Brands in May 2006 as group communication manager responsible for providing strategic communication support to senior management, business leaders and over 20 diverse product brands.
She had joined the group from Sentech where she was media communications manager after she had spent eight years at MultiChoice Africa. At the pay media company Ntuli joined as communications intern, thereafter being offered a media relations position. She was responsible for marketing and promoting major international channels such as CNN, National Geographic, MTV, Cartoon Network and others.
Uros Kepic, cluster VP and MD at Tetra Pak South Africa, says: “Penny is completing her masters degree in communications from the Tshwane University of Technology in November and has a history of experience at some of South Africa’s leading companies and government organisations. We believe her wealth of experience will serve to foster the local and global aims of Tetra Pak’s communications strategy for South Africa and our two other main operating regions in Africa, being Kenya and Nigeria.”
