Cape Town’s ever-innovative NoMU Foods has launched a new drink in time for SA’s winter, an unsweetened hot chocolate variant to its hot choc range.

“We have always prided ourselves in our high quality, delicious hot chocolate, catering to the specific needs of our customers,” says NoMU co-director, Paul Raphaely.

“And that’s why we’re incredibly proud to reveal our latest answer to developing and changing consumer needs: a completely unsweetened hot chocolate that puts the choice of sweetener in the user’s hands.

“A truly unique hot chocolate, this South African FMCG first has the nostalgic feel of your gran making a cup of warm cocoa over the stove, with the added convenience of a premium, commercially available hot chocolate.

“For the first time, imbibers can decide which sweetener to add, and how much. And they can decide whether to make their hot chocolate with milk (or a dairy-free milk replacement), water, or even half-and-half – we’ve designed this cocoa drink to taste delicious regardless.

“Now people can enjoy their hot chocolate the same way that they would treat tea or coffee.”

The hot choc base boasts “highest quality, UTZ Certified cocoa – a whopping 28% pure Dutch processed cocoa” and drinks hot and cold equally well.

The NOMU Unsweetened Cocoa Drink is a Halaal and Kosher (Milchik) certified product, in 100% recyclable, locally- produced packaging.

It is also available in bulk and single serving sachets.

The NoMU hot choc range comprises Skinny Hot Chocolate,  Decadent Hot Chocolate and Just Add Water Hot Chocolate.
