This is a range of litho-laminated corrugated cartons offering high-resolution, top-quality printing, available in a number of formats and shapes.
Examples include bag-in-box packs (in two, three and five-litres sizes), or a six or 12-bottle carton, produced from B, E or N-flute board, offering complete versatility of design and purpose.Using the latest flatbed technology, these packs can be produced with high precision when it comes to die-cutting, perforation and structural shape and size. So far as shape is concerned, there are a number of fresh possibilities with this inGENIUS range.
First there’s a 5th DIMENSION carton that incorporates an additional corner panel for inclusion of extra product information, or allows improved product differentiation through clever use of colour. As an added bonus it makes the pack easier to handle.
Another idea is the PefectPOUR carton for bag-in-box wine. Here a tap outlet is die-cut with precision, with the peel-back customised to any shape or size.
A third idea is not just a carton, it’s a mini shop widow. Called PopSHOP, this powerful point-of-purchase container, with its perforated lid simply peeled away, can be used to promote bottled wine in-store.
Idea number four is called MuscleMASS – cartons that lock into place for added strength to relieve the load on stacked packs – handling 50% more vertical mass compression than regular cartons.
To add some background, last year Caxton/CTP Publishers & Printers acquired Nampak’s Cartons & Labels operations, a deal that’s set to add significant volume to Caxton’s packaging business, and spawned this new division within CTP Packaging.
It joins existing businesses, CTP Flexibles and SA Litho Label Printers, as part of a dynamic and growing packaging group in South Africa.While Caxton/CTP, as a media company, might not have been primarily known for packaging in the past, this is clearly an area that’s set to become a larger component of the group. And innovative products such as this are sure to be leading the way.
